There is something poetic and scriptural about stones and archways.
Go through, go through the gates,
prepare the way for the people;
build up, build up the highway,
clear it of stones,
lift up an ensign over the peoples.
Isaiah 62:10
There are of course different kinds of stones; those that impede and those that allow people to proceed. The prophet Isaiah speaks of the former.
Those that are laid for the foot to traverse are humble stones; still strong and still fully what they are by nature. But it is in their service and deployment that allows something larger and greater to be built and sustained, and sometimes defended. And so it is with us as Franciscan brothers and Franciscan knights.
With God’s grace and adoration of Him in the Blessed Sacrament we strive to be humble living stones.
This is what Google’s Eye, er… Earth, sees.
I wonder what God sees?
We’re located in the white buildings in the far left, in the background, as it should be. Walk over us, walk past, and you will find the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Deo Gratias!
