We have been working diligently on our new home. This October 7th, 2016 — Bishop Conley came to bless the Sacred Heart Friary.
Our hearts are filled to capacity as this is a special day to all of the Knights, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!
It is with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I write this letter to you! Your prayerful and monetary support for our new home was a gift from God. The outpouring of love and support in remodeling our new home was simply a grace filled moment in the lives of the Knights as we are amazed at God and His Majesty. Thank you for responding.
We have been working diligently on our new home, the Sacred Heart Friary, which Bishop Conley came to bless this October 7th. Our hearts are radiant as this also marks the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary which celebrates the victory at Lepanto in 1571 — the battle that saved the Christian West from the Ottoman Turks. Friary Knights of the Holy EucharistThe rosary is as important today as we pray for Christians suffering increased global persecution.
St. Padre Pio said, “Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary for her rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces are given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” Let us pick up our rosary and pray each day for Christians to endure and triumph in this battle.
Thanks be to God! This October 4th, three young men entered as novices and received their habits. They will spend the next year in intensive prayer, spiritual direction, and discernment of the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. By professing the way of St. Francis, the Knights have chosen to give up all in service of their God and their brothers and sisters. To focus on God’s presence and action in all of creation they will cultivate a new way of living in the world. It is a journey of profound self transformation and we ask that you keep these brave men in your prayers.
At the moment I take to heart and will meditate on the words of St. Bernard of Clairvaux.
“There is no one who, with a little bit of thought, cannot but discover many reasons for being grateful to God…Once we have come to an appreciation of all he has given to us, we will have abundant cause to give thanks continually.”
We are offering prayers of thanksgiving continually for your friendship to us as we beg the good Lord to bless you and your loved ones abundantly for your unending support!
In the hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Brother David Mary — and all the Knights
