Thanks be to God! On December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Bishop of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Bishop David Ricken, announced: “I declare with moral certainty and in accord with the norms of the Church that the events, apparitions, and locutions given to Adele Brise in October of 1859 do exhibit the substance of supernatural character, and I do hereby approve these apparitions as worthy of belief—although not obligatory—by the Christian faithful.” . This announcement makes the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help the first and only approved apparition site in the U.S. This is the first and only approved apparition site in the United States! In the small town of Champion, Our Lady asked Adele Brise, a 28-year-old Belgian immigrant, to pray for the conversion of sinners and to catechize the children in this newly settled region. Adele faithfully carried out this mission until her death in 1896.
Prior to Bishop Ricken’s announcement, the apparitions were studied for almost two years. For more information, visit www.shrineofourladyofgoodhelp.com.
